If you renew your work permit you will be given a year. Renew your work permit a week before it will be going to expire.
If you are planning to move to another school make sure to surrender your work permit so you won't have any problem later. You should not work without your work permit and you should always bring it with you. The immigration officers sometimes visit schools and check if foreigners are working legally means if they have a work permit.
