I have seen the part of ten million fireflies when we ate at Lee Garden Sky Buffet, 180 degrees panorama of Hat Yai City lights. That was awesome and I have seen this city lights in the window of an airplane. They turn off the lights so the passenger can view the city lights.
The best place to watch millions of fireflies in Hatyai City is in the top of Hatyai Municipal Park.Google map click here. It's the highest point and it really feels like you're on the top of the world. You can enjoy Hatyai City lights, 270 degrees panorama. The cold breeze makes the place cozier for a couple. My husband loves to stay here until 9:00 pm. The place is dim dark but it is safe to stay late at night. Still, lots of people visit the place to watch the city lights that look like fireflies. The standing gold plated Buddha glows in the dark with its golden color emphasized by the lights around it.
You can also go picnic late in the afternoon or in the evening. But don't forget to bring a mosquito repellant. There's a lot of mosquitoes here when the sun started to hide late in the afternoon. Wear something that protects you from the mosquitoes if you don't have repellant. The wind breeze is quite cold at night so you should bring your jacket or wear long sleeves. It's safe to stay here at night. The monks live here too and there are policemen or security guards here for the whole day. They have a free parking space for motorcycles and vehicles. This park is free from locals and tourist. It's 24 hours open.
