The best time to go there is around 5:00 in the afternoon or when it's not hot anymore. The hill is very hot when it's a sunny day so better go there late in the afternoon. It is also a place for Buddist believers to worship and pray. There are a temple and the lighthouse at the top of the hill.
The lighthouse
The lighthouse was constructed during the reign of King Rama V. The construction was started in 1896 when Phraya Wichienkeeree (Chom) was the governor - general of Songkhla City. According to Prince Damrong Rachanupcha's command, the navy was commissioned to make a special rattan ornament to cover the light house's lantern. The Prince also gave a foundation plan to court officials to control the construction of the lighthouse at the initiative of King Rama V. The construction site was chosen by Phraya Wichienkeeree (Chom Na Songkhla) and Phraya Cholayuthyothin. The lighthouse was finished in 1897.
The Pavilion Residence of King Rama IV (Sala Phra Wihan Daeng)
The residence was built by the order of King Rama V after his pilgrimage to pay respect to the pagoda at the peak of Tang Kuan Mountain on Tuesday 13th of the waning moon in the 9th lunar month, Rattanakorn Era 107 (September 4rt, 1888). The idea of the construction had been from his father King Rama IV.
