The Great Brahman Shrine Hatyai

This Great Brahman Shrine is still part of Hatyai Municipal Park. You can reach there via a cable car that cost 200 baht for Thai and 300 baht for foreigner per person or via vehicles. google map click here. It is located on the left hillside of Hatyai Municipality Park. 

The Great Brahman is a Hindu god of creation which force present within all things. In the surrounding area, there are other gods in the Hinduism and the three-headed elephant is called "Erawan".  This three-headed elephant will welcome you at the entrance when you take the stairs. At the back of this statue is the four-headed Buddha Shrine. 


This is the only part of Hatyai Municipal Park, where you can find the gods of Hinduism, most of the shrine in this park are Buddhist relics and structures. 


Phra Phrom or the four face Buddha in Thai culture is also regarded as a deity of good fortune and protection. Although it is not a Buddhist belief but a Hinduism belief. Most of Thai's and Chinese or Buddhist believers visit this place to offer prayers, candles, and jasmine garland.  The shrine is surrounded by the golden colored elephant. The smell of burned candles and jasmine flowers are very strong in this area.


Moreover, this place is a viewing spot of the impressive scenery of the city of Hatyai and the Songkhla lake.
