This is still a part of Hatyai Municipality park located at Kanjanavanich Road, about 6 kilometers from the heart of the city of Hatyai. It is located at the top of the park. For Google map click here.

This place, I am not really sure if it's open every day. It seems available on special occasions like Loi Krathong Festival and for school educational trips. I entered this place only once. The doom roof is always close whenever we come to Hatyai Municipal Park.

Last November 2016, we had a great time celebrating Loi Krathong Festival in Hatyai Municipality Park. Loi Krathong is celebrated every full moon of November. That day was the day we had a special moon, they called it "SUPERMOON" the largest moon of that year. We went to Hatyai Municipal Park to celebrate Loi Krathong Festival and also to watch the supermoon on the top of the park.

When we were about to go home from the top of Hatyai Park around 7 in the evening. Suddenly, we notice that the big dome roof of the observatory building opened and some locals went that way. So out of curiosity, we found ourselves walking through the observatory building.

The entrance is only 20 baht per person but because it was a special day, the observatory center was free to enter. It's my first time entering in Hatyai Science and Astronomy Center, so we were getting more excited and happy since it's free. The place wasn't crowded and still has a few people entering the place. The building has two floors and has a spiral steel stairway that led to the observatory rooftop.

On the first floor, you will find a lot of pictures and educational materials and information about the universe. On the rooftop or on the second floor, the small telescopes and huge Dobsonian Reflector Telescopes await you there. You can observe the sky or the universe there using telescopes.
