I was amazed when I visited Khu Samui. This small island has been taken over by western inspired hotels, resorts, bars and restaurants. Big shopping malls are everywhere and the island is full of tourists. Famous brand of clothes, food, and everything are present here. They have their own international airport also. You can get here by plane or a ferry for 140 baht per person. Refer to the list below. It's more than an hour to travel from the ferry pier to the island.
If you wish to travel around then you can rent a motorbike for 200 - 250 baht a day and drive as far as you can. Since this island can be travel around but you need to leave your passport as collateral. I recommend taking a photo of your rented motorcycle before you use it. You will pay if you cause damage to your rented motorcycle. You must take a photo, in case the owner will accuse you of damaging the motorbike, so you have a photo to compare it if it's true or not.

The tourists walk around like there is no tomorrow. Many tourists driving motorcycles are half naked. They really love the sun and they have a lot of freedom here. When it comes to the number of people. I can say that this island has a lot of foreigners than local Thai people.
All the staff here can speak English because most of them are foreigners. There are some Filipinos band playing music in the bars. You can find international cuisine here, lots and lots of seafood plus the price is more expensive than on the mainland. If you wish to stay near the crowded and noisy beach where they have a party all night stay at the hotel near the beach. To have a spectacular view then choose the hotel in the mountain.
It looks like the beach is so calm in the morning just taking a break from non-stop party all night. It's worth to visit, good for honeymoon and prenuptial photos. Two days and 1 night are not enough to enjoy this wonderful island. Stay for 3 days or even a week for more fun at night and relaxing ambiance in the morning. Everything you need is here. From food, bars, and even designer clothes, bags, etc are available in the shopping mall. This island is luxurious than other islands I visited. But I heard that the nearby Koh Pangan and Koh Tao are the famous islands too. I hope I can visit it someday.
