The Three Islands Hopping in Trang

Thursday, June 7, 2018

Unlike Krabi islands hopping, Trang's islands hopping is not too popular and crowded. When it comes to visitors it can't be compared to Krabi. The 3 islands hopping here is more expensive than 4 islands hopping in Krabi since only a few tourists come here to take this tour. This is a famous activity in Trang Thailand. You can also visit Trang's famous island that considered to be one of the tourist attractions or destination in Trang.

We arrived at Hat Yao Pier google map click here as early as 7:30 in the morning. It's 200 kilometers from Hat Yai and 4 hours travel time. The parking space is not free, you need to pay 10 baht per car. The tour cost us 6000 baht per a long tail boat good for 12 people.

The tour started at 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The first island is quite far, it takes more than an hour to get to our first destination which is the Koh (island) Ngai. From there we had snorkeling and had our lunch. The tour doesn't have a free lunch so we prepared our lunch head. We paid the long tail boat directly to the owner and asked for a discounted price. We weren't booked in a tour agency so we don't have free lunch and fruits. Usually, they give free lunch, fruits like watermelon or papaya and a bottle of mineral water each if you book in a tour package. They will also ask for another 40 baht each person to pay for something like environmental free for our next destination.
Koh Ngai
I was amazed at the next stop, the Morakot Cave. We stop in the middle of a rocky island, They even have standby police on this island so I felt safe. I can't see any sand and the guide told us that we need to swim to go inside and there's a  rope that will lead you there. From outside it looks like a rocky mountain and you have to pass a very dark cave for about 80 meters long. So long and it was too dark. The only light we had is the light from our tour guide's headlight. I am so afraid that someone might pull me down and I don't even know how to swim. I hold the rope tightly since I don't know how to swim and finally when we get inside, I can't stop myself from the amusement. I definitely heard everyone say's "WOW" including me. It was mesmerized by its own hidden beauty. This is definitely fit's to the famous quotes "Do not judge the book by its cover". The outside appearance was an ordinary rock but the beauty lies within.

As we entered the secret lagoon inside. It was totally awesome. I felt like we were in the mouth of a volcano. The island is like a volcano and there is a big hole inside where you can see a blue sky and the sun shines from there. They said this was the rendezvous of pirates many years ago. They keep their stolen goods here. This is the best part of the tour. They let us swim there and explore the small lagoon. The entrance is only one so we need to take the dark cave way again.

The last destination is the Koh Kradan. There's a cave also here that will take us to the monkey island. This island has a lot of monkeys so be careful with your things. The monkey might steal your belongings.  This is our last stop so they give us a lot of time here before we go back to Hat Yao Pier. A lot of locals go swimming here. Other's even put up their own tent. The sand is white too and the water is clear. The long tail boat meets us on the other side of the island. We go back to Hat Yao Pier feeling satisfied with the tour. They have bathrooms where you can change your clothes.
Koh Kradan

By the way be careful with there free used snorkeling gears, be sure to count it before and after you use. They will charge you when you lost it and because we weren't able to count it before we used it, they said 2 snorkeling gears were lost and we need to pay it. We had an argument with the tour guide and because he asked us that we need to pay it for 1000 baht. All of us think that he just trick us to get more money from us. We just paid it anyway so we can go home. Although the trip was good we were disappointed on the tour guide.

These are the link if you want to book online for islands hopping in Krabi. Whether you book online or on the tour agency, the price online is a little bit cheaper than on the tour agency. I can guarantee you that one.
