If you want to travel and do it with nature, this place is the best for you. Kiriwong Village in Lansaka is a village in the mountain. It is known as the Chang Mai of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province although the weather here is not as cold as Chang Mai. It is located at Kam, Lon, Lansaka Nakhon Si Thammarat 80230, 28 kilometers away from the heart of the city. Google map click here. The village is big. There are hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, and bars around here. They also have a campsite area where you can stay in your own tent camp or you can rent a tent around here. The weather is cold throughout the year. The roads are all concrete and it's easy to go around. It's good to do cycling here early in the morning. The place is quiet, fresh air and safe to roam around. You won't get bored coming here.
The best time to come here is early in the morning. The traffic near the bridge is quite heavy at 9 am until the afternoon. Parking space is not free, you need to pay 10 baht and sometimes it's muddy because it's not cemented. Public toilet and bathroom are free but they put some donation box on the toilet wall. Nan Hin Tha Na is the most famous part of the village. It's where the hanging bridge which made of steel and wood is located.
The mountain village is clean and the water is crystal clear. This village is abundant in nature. The scenery is beautiful with mountains and waters everywhere. A lot of locals come here, especially on weekend. The place is quite populated on weekend. The food is more expensive than the price in the city. Some restaurants are offering international cuisine but mostly they sell local food. The stream is free but the waterfall parks around are not free. We just spent a day there so I never get a chance to enter those waterfalls park.
The best time to come here is in summer. Any time would be good but please avoid the rainy season. This place has been flooded many times during rainy days. The river will be quite ruined but the houses were safe since they were on the mountain. The flood almost reached the hanging bridge with a strong current. Thailand got 2 seasons, the rainy season and the hot season. Have some research on the climate before planning to come here. The heavy rain starts in November until January. So avoid those months.
