Koh Lanta is a beautiful island which is part of Andaman Sea Krabi. From Aonang beach Krabi, you can get there by speedboat. To get there by land, you must take a ferry once. The island is too far from Hatyai and we travel for almost 4 hours going here. It was a long trip but its worth it.
The island is not as crowded as Aonang Krabi or Koh Samui but it's making its name. Tourist started to visit this island for its white sand and beautiful nature. We stayed at Lanta Sabai Hotel and Bungalows. google map click here. The beachfront seems so quiet and refreshing. There are bars in front of the beach that opens at night. Tourists have started to come here instead of staying at the busy and crowded street Aonang Beach.
If you are looking for a cheap hotel that has a pool and near the beach in Koh Lanta. You can stay at Lanta Sabai Hotel. The rooms are clean. They have bungalows and dormitory rooms with your own locker at a very affordable price. We stayed in the room in front of the pool and it has a terrace. The owner is very nice and approachable. We got this room for 700 baht per day.
The hotel is just a walking distance from the seashore which is very convenient and it has a pool. Although the management is a little bit strict which is not good. We have some children with us and they enjoyed swimming in the pool which is very noisy and the staff came to remind them to minimize their voices. We felt so annoyed because we came there to enjoy the place but we were not permitted to make some noise.
We booked our rooms ahead of time and they know we were coming. We arrive there past 12 o'clock in the afternoon but they won't let us in since our room is still not ready. We waited until 2:00 pm before we entered our rooms. The parking space for the hotel customers is very narrow. We had troubles looking for a space to park our car.
At the seaside, they have this floating bridge that will take you to the floating pool in the ocean. It's very challenging to get there since the bridge moves with the waves as you pass by. At first, we tried to walk slowly but after we familiarize ourselves. We ran on the floating bridge for another extreme experience. From the floating pool to the land, some of us fell off the water. The ocean waves are playing with us. It's like we were competing with the waves. Those who fell were lost to the waves. Luckily I survive until I get to the land. We enjoyed this so much. The beach is clean, peaceful and you can view the sunset from here. Definitely, we will be going back here.
