From Hatyai City, we traveled for more than 4 hours to get to Sichon Nakhon Si Thammarat. Sichon is just a small district of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Sichon was known for it's a white sand shoreline. Sichon Beach is located Sichon, Sichon District, Nakhon Si Thammarat 80120. For Google map click here. This place also serves as a community garden for the locals. Many locals come here to have a picnic. They lay their map and relax under the big trees. The local government put some swings on the branches of these big trees. The swings seem too strong to handle different sizes of the people. The rope is very big and strong and it is connected to a steel handle that holds the wooden swing. It is very safe for anyone to ride on the swing.
You can also find some vendors around selling snacks. The vendors are very kind to us. We spent our lunch here. We laid our mat on the grass but we forgot to bring some salt to add it to our food. We ask some salt to the vendors and he gave us a pack of salt. We offered to buy it instead but he insisted that it is OK. We were very thankful to him.
You can go swimming here and I have seen some locals go swimming on the beach but I haven't seen some toilet around or bathroom to change clothes. If you want to use the toilet maybe you can go to the Custom House just across the road of this community garden. The community garden doesn't have a parking lot either so we park our car on the roadside.
It has a paved cemented pathways and you can also find some plastic round table around. You can use it and it is free. If you didn't bring some mat. You can rent a mat for only 20 - 30 baht on the vendors around.
The place is extremely relaxing but most of the locals come here to have a picnic in the afternoon. The place is very safe. You can also come here early in the morning if you wish to see the glorious sunrise. The place has a lot of big trees so it is shady and a grassy ground. It has an awesome view for sight-seeing and picture taking. Sichon beach is clean and well maintained.
