Go Hiking at Khao Lek or Bald Mountain Sadao

To those who want to go to Khao Le or Bald Mountain, here is the list of things to do to be able to go hiking here. You have to get informed so you won't experience the same faith with us. This place is still unknown to tourist's and maybe in the future, it will be a relevant tourist's destination for those who want to go extreme adventure. 

For the safety of all tourists who want to go hiking at Khao Leyou need to apply for permission at the municipality of Sadao Tourism Department. You can call the municipal office in advance from Monday to Friday at 8:00 'clock to 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon. Please call 074 411 400 to 113 to 138. The group is limited to 40 people. The Bald Mountain is small and can't cater too many people. The schedule is only available on weekend (Saturday and Sunday only). This weekend activity is free, you don't have to pay anything.  

Before making a call, prepare this information. They will ask for your name, mobile phone number and the number of people who wants to go with you. After making a book, they will call you again to confirm on Friday. 

From 4:30 to 5:00 o'clock in the morning, registration at the Buddhist Park below the hill. Google Map click here. You need to sign a waiver and they will give you an ID number. Make sure to give it back after climbing.

The hiking starts at 5:00 o'clock in the morning, starting from Khao Lek Nee to the Khao Le or Bald Mountain in English. The hiking will takes 30 minutes or more, depends on how fast the group move. 


Reached the Khao Lek at 6:00 o'clock estimated time. Then 6:00 to 7:00 in the morning, watch the sunrise. Around 7:30 to 9:00, return to the original route going back to the Buddhist Temple.

Tourist must abide by the rules and regulation on visiting the Khao Le or Bald Mountain.

1. A tent is not allowed in the forest or on the hill. 
2. Do not leave the garbage.
3. Do not bring food to eat on the hill.
4. Do not dig or cut trees.
5. Do not catch the animals.
6. Wear tight clothes and safety shoes to go hiking.
