There are three parks that are located in the heart of the city and along the riverside. Namely the Mud Crab Sculpture, Chaofah Park and the Thara Park. These parks are the tourist's destination in Krabi Thailand.
The Mud Crab Sculpture is the symbolic figure of Krabi. It is located at Pak Nam, Amphoe Krabi Thailand. The small park has a parking lot and a restaurant across the street. It is along the road and has a river view on the other side. There are steel made benches facing the river which is good for relaxing. There are many tourists and locals come here late in the afternoon to relax and take photos.

You can get here by songtaew from Aonang or Krabi town but most of the tourists come here with a rented motorbike. It is better to rent a motorbike and travel around Krabi for 200 - 250 baht a day. You need to deposit your passport and be sure to take a photo of the motorbike before you use it to avoid unnecessary fees.
In the middle of The Mud Crab Sculpture is a pier going to the cave. The boat trip going to the Khao Khanab Cave and mangroves sight-seeing cost 700 baht and it takes an hour of a boat ride. We weren't able to take this trip. It is expensive for us. In front of the pier, still has a parking lot, benches, lawn, and trees where you can do a picnic. Bring your own mat if you want to rest under the shady trees. The Family Friendly Mini Mart and the Black Canyon Coffee is just across the street.
Next to the pier is Chaofah Park. For Google Map click here. You can also bring your mat here and have a picnic. The park is bigger than the Mud Crab Sculpture. There's a big structure in the middle. There are steel benches here facing the river where you can sit and relax. There is a floating restaurant in the middle of Chaofah Park and Thara Park.
Go a little bit farther is Thara Park, It is bigger than Chaofah Park. There are no structures here. But most of the locals come here to lay a mat and have a picnic. It has a lot of trees, bigger lawn and much bigger parking lot.
The best time to come here is late in the afternoon where the sun is out or early evening. There is a busy street night market every day that sells different kinds of Thai street food. You can buy a tasty meal or dinner for a cheap price. If you are planning to come to these parks in the evening, don't forget to bring a mosquito repellent.
