Four Island Hopping Tour Krabi

Monday, September 3, 2018

Krabi is one of the famous tourist destinations in Thailand. You can get here by plane, the city has it's own Internation Airport. Buy van or bus from anywhere in Thailand. There are many things to do here but Four Island Tour is on the top of the list. So don't miss this when visiting Krabi.

There are many famous islands in the Andaman Sea. Including the Phi Phi Island and the most famous island is Maya Beach. Thanks to the movie "The Beach" starring Leonardo De Caprio that set on this island and make it known to the whole world.

You can book this tour in any tourist information center or tour agency around Krabi. Ask your hotel information desk if they have this tour if you don't want to go to Aonang Beach. Aonang is the center of tourism in Krabi. You can find a lot of shops, hotels and tour agency around here.

Usually, Four Island Tour by a long tail boat started picking up tourist in their hotels or guesthouse in the city at 8:00 in the morning. If you stay in near Aonang, you can just wait at the tour agency where you book a tour before 8:00 o'clock in the morning. The tour cost 400 to 600 baht depends on the season. It's usually more expensive in summer, October, and December. The tour includes free bottled mineral water, lunch box, and fresh fruits. There are more expensive tours like 5 island tour, Maya Beach, and Phi Phi Island tour.

All the tourists waited at Ao Nang Beach, there is a small port here intended for this tour. Everyone gathered according to their chosen tour. They sorted out by giving colored stickers to the tourists. Everyone was given a life jacket in the boat and the tour guide collected another 100 baht for foreigners and 20 but for local. He said it is for the environmental fee or something like that. He speaks English well and gives information about the tour.

First stop is the rocky Chicken Island, from here we had our snorkeling. There is no sandbar here, so we didn't actually get into the island. The long tail stops near the island. They provided snorkeling equipment to all but I recommend you to bring your own equipment if you have. There are much colorful fish here and coral reefs.

Tup and Mor Island

Next stop is the Tup island or the Turtle Island and Mor Island. Looking from afar it really looks like a turtle in the middle of the sea. We had our lunch here which included in the tour package. The lunch box has a rice, omelet, and stir-fry mix vegetables. The taste is pretty good. There is a sandbar which connected the Tup and Mor Island. You can go to Mor Island if it is low tide and the sandbar is visible. If it is high tide and the sandbar is not visible, they won't allow anyone to go to the Mor Island.

The 3rd stop is the Railay Beach where the Phra Nang Cave is located. The cave has a lot of male genitals made of wood. They said if you want to get pregnant. You have to offer a prayer to Phra Nang: The Goddess of Love. If your wish come true, you have to go back here and bring wooden male genital to give thanks to Phra Nang.

The last stop is the Poda Island. We stop here longer than the other island. I was wondering where the other tourist go since I have seen that many of us are waiting at Ao Nang beach in the morning. They had to make a rotating tour for the tourist to make the island not a crowded place. Some long tail boat started at Tup and Mor Island, another group on Phra Nang Cave and another on Poda Island. It was fun and I will differently recommend it to anyone.

These are the link if you want to book online for the island tour in Krabi. Whether you book online or on the tour agency, the price online is a little bit cheaper than on the tour agency. I can guarantee you because some tour agency might get an advantage of you being a foreigner and offer you a higher price.
