It is really interesting to learn about the history, artifacts, and antiques. All of these can be learn and experience when you go to the Museum. Southern Folklore Museum is located at Tambon Ko Yo, Amphoe Mueang Songkhla, Songkhla. For Google Map click here. Open every day from 8:30 in the morning to 4:30 in the afternoon.
From Hatyai, you can get here by songtew. Ride a green Songtew for 24 baht or Van 34 baht going to Songkhla, to make sure that you are riding the right songtew. You can ask the driver "Pie Songkhla Mai" means "Is this going to songkhla". Stop at the intersection point to Kho Yo. They call it "Hayek" or "Hiek". From Hayek, you can ride a maroon songtew going to Kho Yo for only 10 baht. The museum is located on the left side of the road before you reach the 2nd part of Tinasulanonda Bridge.
To get inside, you must pay 100 baht for adult and 50 baht for the children, for foreigners. Locals only pay 50 baht for adult and 20 baht for children. The museum is situated on the slope of the hill going to the top of the hill. From here you can view the 2nd part of Tinasulanonda Bridge and the panoramic view of Songkhla Lake.

Inside the museum are artifacts about the history of the southern part of Thailand. There are many things to learn from here. You can also learn about how the ancient civilization lives. There are many interesting and funny things here that make me laugh like these pictures.
The southern ancient civilization is so creative. Maybe these are the things they use to imagine something. It's funny and at the same time, it's really interesting. There are many more stuff like these displayed in Southern Folklore Museum.
There is man looks so real that I almost get shocked. I thought that he will shoot some people inside the museum. It is an artificial ancient man at the top of the real tree. He is holding an ancient gun and pointing his gun towards visitors.
This is a gift from the Philippines. It was given by a major of the Philippine Army. It is an antique sword that used in hunting animals of the ancient civilization. You can find many things here from the Philippines that was given to the southern people of the old Songkhla as a sign of friendship between to civilization.
