Tummour Restaurant has branches all over Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. These four countries share some tradition, culture and even in food. Tummour Restaurant means a mix of salads though I am not sure about it. My Thai friend told me when I ask her about the meaning of Tummour in Thai. At first, I thought that Tummour Restaurant is a Thai Restaurant that offers Thai food. But she told me a big "NO". This restaurant is a combination of Laos and Thailand food.
They said they were "The Most Popular Spicy Food Restaurant in Thailand". The main dishes are really spicy, I only tasted it because I don't like spicy food. I order not so spicy instead but still, it's so spicy for me but I can eat it at least. Living in Thailand for 5 years, I can now at least eat spicy food but cannot eat too much spicy.
Their main menus include the famous Thai Som Tum also known as Papaya Pokpok. It is a vegetable salad that has Papaya as the main ingredients. They added fermented fish sauce (bagoong in Filipino) in the sauce. They also sell these fermented fish sauce in the restaurant.
The restaurant has a fancy ambiance but the food is not so expensive. It is very affordable. They have a branch here in Hatyai located inside the Tesco Lotus Mall. The mall is in front of Prince of Songkhla University. For Google map click here.
Aside from the Som Tum, their deep fried spicy chicken wings are also customers' favourite. They have fish, fried noodles and other Thai cuisines in their menu. All of these are at a very affordable price. I have tried Som Tum without fermented fish sauce and Pad Thai (fried noodles). The taste is good and I like it. I will surely go back here.
The menu is written in Thai and it has an English translation too. The staffs are friendly, the place is cozy and clean. It is a good place to eat traditional Thai food. It is very convenient because it's inside the mall. You can have lunch or dinner here before going shopping.
