Thung Khai Botanical Garden is located at Thung Khai, Yan Ta Khao District, Trang. Open every day from 8:00 o'clock in the morning to 6:30 in the evening. It is not far from the Trang Internationa Airport and it is located within the city. The forest park is very big. The staff is friendly at the entrance and you just sign your name to enter the place free of charge for local tourists and foreigners too.
The place is not crowded. There are only a few people when we went here after lunch. It has a lot of trees that shade you from the heat of the sun. It's a botanical garden that has a canopy walk and a swamp inside the forest. The canopy walk is 400 meters from the main entrance and swamp forest is 500 meters away.
On this photo, you can see the different places in the garden but we only went to a canopy walk. We rented a bicycle for 20 baht and ride a bicycle going to the canopy walk and even in the canopy walk. The canopy walk is the main attraction of this park. It is made of steel and painted red. It's exciting to go riding a bike on the hanging bridges but it's a little bit scary. The hanging bridge will swing when someone walks into it.
At the end of the canopy walk is the swamp forest but there is a warning sign about the snakes so we didn't go farther. We go back to where we started and ended up in the shop to buy snacks and drinks.

From the photo above, you can see us riding a bike and other's are enjoying the walk. It feels good and it's great. It's a little bit scary since I am afraid of heights but the bridge is made of steel so I assured myself that it is safe. We enjoyed the place and the forest also. The place is so relaxing and the wind is breezy. It's a good place for the family and friend to hang out or for some recreational activities.
The best time to come here is late in the afternoon but at any time of the day is OK since it's a forest park. They are many cottages and benches around where you can take a seat and relax while enjoying your snacks. They have also a big parking lot before the entrance and the public toilet is clean. Overall, the place is good and most of all it's free.
