Sunrise View At Khan Lao Hill

Tuesday, October 2, 2018

When you are looking for a place to relax after a tiring week. The best thing to do is to get closer to nature. Spend your time with nature where you can smell the fresh air and listen to the sound of nature. Khan Lao Hills in Namom District Hatyai Songkhla Thailand is located at Tambon Phichit, Amphoe Na Mom, Chang Wat Songkhla. For Google map click here. It is 30 minutes and 17 kilometers from the heart of the city of Hatyai.

We didn't stay there for a night since we are just 10 minutes away from here. We traveled early morning around 4:30. We really don't know the road going up but google map shows us 3 options and the first 2 road is closer to us. These two roads led us to nowhere. The last option which is a little bit far from us is the only way going up to the hill. Finally, we reach our destination at 7:00 in the morning. The sun is up and we didn't manage to see the sunrise but it is still foggy that time.

The road going up to the hills is rough and muddy. A car can't go to the top of the hill. A pick-up truck can. If you contact there number they will help how to get there. If you want to stay here overnight the fare is included on your room package whether you choose a tent or a house. I don't have much information about staying here overnight.

The picture above is the only road that leads to the Khan Lao Hills. Don't follow that other two directions that Google Maps shows you. There is a Khan Lao Cafe below the hills which is the starting point of your journey to the top. You can park your car here and the Khan Lao Hills management will take you to the top by riding a pick-up truck going up.

From here, Khan Lao Cafe, you can inquire about the overnight stay package. They have a big parking lot. They have a coffee shop and a restaurant that offers Thai food and international cuisine. It is located along the road going up to Khan Lao Hills at Phichit, Na Mom District, Songkhla. It's 26 minutes and 14 kilometers from the heart of the city of Hatyai. For Google map click here

You can contact this telephone number 089 656 1816 for more details if you want to stay there overnight. You can rent a tent for 400 baht. A small house that is made of light materials like the picture above is available for 400 baht per person. There are also single houses with terrace available for rent. If you wish to stay with a group of friends or a family. There are many rooms to choose from. They have a camping site with a tent for rent for 400 baht.

These colorful small houses are 400 baht for an overnight stay. There are restaurants and cafe at the top of the hill open at 9:00 o'clock in the morning and close late at night. They use an electric generator for electricity. The toilets are clean and the staffs are very accommodating. They are friendly to us although we didn't stay here overnight. There are many monkeys on the end of the road, so be careful with your belongings because they might steal it from you. They look cute playing among the plants and trees.

We came here with a motorcycle. It is not easy since the road is rough and steep. There are times we needed to push the motorcycle to be able to go up and sometime we have to walk on the steep road. The road is not concrete cement, it is made of hard rocks and clay sand. So if it is rainy days, it is tougher for a motorcycle to go up.

From here you can view the city Hatyai on the left side and the province of Namom on the right side with a full of clouds. The brilliant sunrise is setting on the right side of the hills. The view from the top is amazing and wonderful God's great creation.
