Kway Teow or Thai Noodle Soup

This dish is so famous in Thailand. You can find it mostly in the restaurant all over Thailand. You won't get hungry in Thailand because whenever you look. You can find a restaurant or stalls. This is the first dish I've known when I first came here. Kway Teow is a noodle soup with lots of vegetables which I love. It serves in a bowl with a cheap price. It's only 25 to 50 baht per serve.

The noodle soup main ingredients are meatballs, chicken/pork/fish, bean sprouts, coriander, and spring onions. You can add chili powder if you want to eat spicy food and fried chopped garlic. I saw my co-Thai teacher adding fermented beans too. But I haven't tried to add it to my noodle soup.

Kway Teow Kay

I always eat Kway Teow Kay means noodle soup with chicken but recently my co-Thai teacher introduce Kway Teow Pla means noodle soup with fish. Usually, Kway Teow Kay and Kway Teow Moo (noodle soup with pork) are commonly available in restaurant or stalls. It is quite hard to find Kway Teow Pla. Mostly, it is available in Halal restaurant. But Kway Teow Pla is more expensive that Kway Teow Moo and Kway Teow Kay. Usually Kway Teow Chicken cost 30 baht while Kway Teow Pla is 50 baht per serving.

Kway Teaw Pla
I prefer Kway Teow Pla if it is available because I am health conscious. They usually use Pla Kapong with it which is very famous and delicious fish in Thailand. I really love noodles and Thai noodle soup suits my taste. So, if you visit Thailand, don't miss this dish. It is best to eat on a cold day.
