If you are looking for a getaway or a place to find serenity and inner peace, Georgetown definitely belongs to the top list. You will be immersed with the culture through different tourist spots and attractions that are not only picture-perfect but will also take your breath away when you experience it personally. If you are planning to go to Georgetown, here’s one of the places you should never miss.
There is no need for you to go to exhibitions to witness an amazing art. George Town is packed with different wall paintings that will surely leave you in awe. The most exciting thing is, you don’t even need a map to explore these arts. You could just cross a street and take a picture with an amazing painting. Free your phone memory in advance and practice different poses for you will surely need them.
The Street Art is located at 316, Beach St, Georgetown, 10300 George Town, Penang, Malaysia. For their official website click here and it's open 24 hours a day. It's free since it is just painted on the wall along the street.
It's fun and exciting to explore the street on foot. Strolling around the area starting from Armenian Street to Victoria Street. You can ask a map on the information desk of the hotel where you stay. The Penang map is available in almost all hotels in Penang. To explore the whole place, to reach each street mural or go anywhere in Penang, you can also rent a bike in the shop for 8 MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) for the whole day. The street arts includes murals of all sizes. It can be discovered but some of them are hidden in unusual places.
There are many shops and stalls around so you shouldn't have to worry if you get thirsty or hungry. The best time to come here is early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the heat of the sun. The street is quite crowded so avoid office hours.
Special thanks to Thea and Lourieville for your contribution.
