Visiting a country is much more exciting when you go to peculiar tourist spots like this certain museum. The upside-down museum is located amidst the busy street of Kimberley. Going there is not a problem. You could just use your George Town Exploratory Map which is free of charge and you can get anywhere. In our case, the heat of the sun was too much so we decided to ride a Rickshaw Tricycle- a public transport in which George Town is also known for.
Riding one is definitely an amazing experience because you will not only pay to get there. The drivers are too hospitable and will do stop overs for you to take pictures. Free of charge! We paid 10 MYP (Malaysian Ringgit) going to Kimberley Street from The Cenotaph and Esplanade which is absolutely amazing since our driver was kind enough to tour us around some famous spots and explained their brief history.
The Upside-Down Museum is located at 45, Lebuh Kimberley, George Town, 10100 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. Open from 9 in the morning to 5:30 in the afternoon on weekdays. On weekend, it will close at 6:30 in the evening. For Google Map click here. When we arrived in the museum, we paid 27 MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) each at the front desk. The ticket is quite expensive but we enjoy it a lot. They will ask you about your home country and don’t get scared! Just answered all the information that they asked. They are just too friendly. After we got our pass, we were instructed to put our shoes in our designated locker which is mind-blowing because even that one, is upside-down!
We had to wait for about 10 minutes for our number to be called. They have a waiting area for you to watch gag shows while waiting for your turn to enter the museum. Upon entering, you will be welcomed by a staff which will offer to take your picture. Each room have a staff that will hold your phone for you and will teach you poses for your snaps to look great! Isn’t it amazing? The details of each area like a bathroom, bedroom, dining room, etc. are absolutely perfect, not to mention the friendly staffs! An all-out experience in a large museum and someone takes your picture for you!
We spend 15 - 20 minutes inside the museum. Just enough to have a delightful experience and fun. The best time to come here is early in the morning as soon as the museum opens to avoid the long queue. It's a famous place so many tourists come here. Avoid coming here on weekend, it's quite crowded and the time you spend inside the museum is shortened. Prices are subject to change.
Special thanks to Thea and Lourieville for your contribution.
