The mountain range in the middle of Hatyai is known as Kho Hong Hills. Where the Hatyai Municipality Park and The Steel temple is located. I have stayed in Hatyai for almost 5 years and I have been to Hatyai Municipal Park many times already but later I've known that there is more place that was unknown to us. Most probably known to locals but not to us foreigners.
I thought that the highest viewpoint of Hatyai City is the place where the statue of Phra Phutthamongkol Maharat is located. But I was wrong, The Kho Hong Hills Viewpoint is located higher than Golden Statue of Phra Phutthamongkol Maharat.

We just discovered it accidentally when we went to Hatyai Municipal Park by motorcycle with my husband. We take the road on the left side going to The Great Brahman Shrine. Passing through The Great Brahman Shrine, around 50 meters away, there is a paved concrete way going up. The road is narrowed into 1 lane. Just enough for the car to pass. We saw a motorcycle going up to the mountain at the back of the Phra Phutthamongkol Maharat Statue. I told my husband to follow them. This leads us to the highest viewpoint of Hatyai which is The Kho Hong Hills viewpoint.
We stopped by and took pictures. After a few minutes, the 2 men in the motorcycle rode again on their motorcycle and this time they continue to go further. Taking the paved way. We also rode our motorcycle and follow them. They lead us to another place. There is another viewpoint of Kho Hong Hills. This time not facing through the city of Hatyai. The viewpoint of the place at the back of Kho Hong Hills. Facing the Thungyai District, you will see mountains, forest, and villages. The place is so quiet because not many locals and tourist come here.
