I always wanted to come here as often as I can but it is more than an hour to travel from Hatyai. So, whenever I have an opportunity to visit The Zon Duty-Free, I bought a lot. There are plenty of things to buy here. From chocolates, candies, bags, t-shirts, shoes, etc. The mall is not so big and I think only a few people come here. You can find it in the middle of Thailand Border and before going to Malaysia Border. The Zon Duty-Free Complex is available near the Sadao Border and located at your right side facing Malaysia Border.
Padang Bezar Border Zon Duty-free is located at Kompleks Bebas Cukai, No.2, Jalan Baru Sadao, 02100, Perlis, Padang Besar, Malaysia. Near the gate of Malaysia Border. If you ride a train, you won't be able to come here. For Google Map click here. It is open Daily from 9 in the morning to 6 in the evening.
I haven't been in Zon Duty-Free in Sadao Border, but I have been in Zon Duty-Free Padang Besar border. You will surely love to go shopping here. The price is cheaper than buying it on a regular price at the mall whether in Thailand or Malaysia. My eyes were so shocked upon seeing the prices. There are also luxury items on sale. Taking photo is prohibited inside the shopping complex. I don't know why.
To pay for the goods. They accept Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) and Thai Baht also. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit but you can pay in Thai Baht at the counter.
Therefore, it must stop-over before entering Malaysia or Thailand. I think entering Malaysia Immigration, they are quite strict about bringing goods inside Malaysia. You must ask the counter first if it is OK to bring the goods you bought at Zon Duty-Free in Malaysia.
