The Rock Garden Restaurant is a restaurant along the river. It is ideal for a family outing or a group of friends. You can enjoy your food while others can enjoy swimming too.
It is located at 7 Tambon Thung Tam Sao, Amphoe Hat Yai, Chang Wat Songkhla Thailand. Travel time is more than 30 minutes from the city center of Hatyai. It's along the way before you can reach the famous Tone Nga Chang Waterfalls. The food is not expensive and the taste is Ok. I cannot say it taste so good but it's not bad either. It just ordinary and value for money. We ordered Som Yum or papaya pokpok, Khaopad or fried rice and rice with an omelet. These are Thai common food you can other here. There is still a lot of Thai cuisine on the menu but I cannot read it. They don't have an English menu so I just asked some Thai dishes that I know. The staff are so friendly and at least can communicate in English.
I recommend this place for a family outing. Especially if you have kids with you. They will surely enjoy swimming while you can watch over them. You can sit close to the river and while enjoying your food you can drop your feet on the water to relax. The water is not so deep so you don't have to worry about your kids swimming on the river. If you come here with your friends. It's a good place to relax and get closer to nature. Getting closer to nature is healing too. We can at least get away from our busy life or work in the city.
They also sell seasonal fruit fresh from the trees mangosteen and cotton fruit at a very affordable price. We enjoyed our 2 kilos at 50 baht mangosteen here while waiting for our orders. They also have free wifi for the customer and you don't have to worry about parking space because you can park your car under the shaded mangosteen and cotton fruit trees.
