Trekker Camp: Cheapest Staycation in Chang Mai

Friday, October 11, 2019

When visiting the city of Chiang Mai in Thailand, you have to prepare a lot of money. The tourist spots here are far and quite expensive for the farang or foreigners. The entrance of every place is if not doubled or tripled or 400 % difference. Like for instance, the Doi Inthanon National Park, for Thai people they paid 50 baht but for us foreigners we have to pay 300 baht.

So if you are calculating your expenses and decided to look for a cheap but decent place to stay. I highly recommend Trekker Camp. It is located near the heart of the city if Chiang Mai. For google map click here. As for me, I researched before deciding in which place we will stay while in Chiang Mai. I settled here, I stayed in the fan room, don't worry Chiang Mai weather is not really hot that day. So, it's not really hot inside the room. They also have an air-conditioned room.

If you travel as backpackers, they have a mixed dormitory for you. The fan room where I stay has a hot shower. The room and the toilet are decently clean. The staff is customer friendly and speaks English well. Scotch is very accommodating to us. We arrived at 8:30 in the morning and let us check-in immediately when there's already a vacant room, which is good. Mostly the hotel will allow you to check-in at 2:00 in the afternoon.

The price of your day per day comes with free breakfast and coffee or tea. The room is very cheap and it comes with free breakfast. Isn't it great? They also have a restaurant where you can offer Thai food and international cuisine. You can order snacks in the restaurant also and they have a mini shop where you can buy drinks or beer.

They offer motorbike rental also and tour packages. You can ask the information desk for different tour packages. The guest house is always full so make sure to book at booking.com ahead of time.
