One of the famous tourist destination in Chiang Mai is the Hill Tribe at Himong Village in Chiang Mai. Himong Village is about 30 kilometer from the heart of the city of Chiang Mai. Located at Tambon Sui Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai. For google map click here. You have to travel for more than an hour to get here. It situated at the top of the mountain so the road is steep and curve.
The road going up is two lanes and the road going down is 1 lane. About 2 kilometers passing the Bhubhing Palace, the road narrowed to 1 lane and it's cemented but a lot of holes. You have to take a broken road to get to the Himong Village.
Upon arriving the Himong Village, you will be amaze by their shops. A lot of shops around. The shops sells different kinds of village crafts and other product that is locally product by the hill tribe. I can tell that this place is was famous for their locally produce products like native coffee, hand craft, dried fruits and many more. The shops starts from entrance up to the top going to the Winter Flower Garden. You can have a meal here and try there locally product organic coffee.
You can visit the Winter Flower Garden and the Dui Pui Waterfalls for free. You can rent a traditional Himong Hill Tribe costume for 50 baht and take a lot of photos at the Garden. The garden has a lot of flowers and it's colorful. Good for taking photos to post in social media.
There is a small waterfalls in the Winter Flower Garden which is the Dui Pui Waterfalls. Many locals and tourist visits this place. We rented a motor bike to come here. As for the place , it's worth to visit but since it's free don't expect too much. But the shops sells good cheap but quality products. It's good to buy souvenirs here.
