The Elegant Bhubing Palace in Chiang Mai

Tuesday, October 29, 2019

The elegant Bhubing Palace is located at 1223 Sriwichai Alley, Tambon Su Thep, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai. It's 25 kilometers from the heart of the city of Chiang Mai. Travel time perhaps will be 1 and half an hour or more since the road is slope and steep. For google map click here. Opens every day from 8:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afternoon. Since it's far from the city, they close early.

There is also a strict dress code here, you must dress in modesty. Wearing shorts, mini skirts, spaghetti strap dress and sleeveless is prohibited. If you come here wearing these kinds of clothes,  don't worry you can buy a t-shirt, trousers or scarf to cover yourself in the souvenir shops across the street. I bought mine for 100 baht. The souvenir shops have a lot to offer at a very affordable price.

Entering the palace costs 50 baht for foreigners and 20 baht to Thai. Be sure to follow the arrow sign when getting around the palace for some ways are blocked and they don't allow the tourist to pass. This palace is not like a European style palace with a big castle.

The place is well maintained and it's very clean. There's a lot of security or military personnel going around. You aren't allowed to enter the establishment or buildings aside from the coffee shop. It is not open for the public because the Royal family is using it when they are in Chiang Mai. There's a helipad not far from the Bhubing Palace.

Tourists are only allowed to roam around the garden. The garden is so mesmerizing with the beautiful and colorful different kinds of flowers. There's a lot of different kinds of very big, colorful and beautiful roses. It's my first time seeing those kinds of roses which is very big. Picking flowers is not allowed. The landscape of the garden is elegant. It's really good for picture taking. You will probably need an umbrella if you want to walk around the palace in broad day. You should also wear comfortable shoes for walking.
