This is probably the oldest temple in Chiang Mai. Everything here seems old. It was quite hidden in the woods and I saw a few tourists come here. Probably because it was not known and not included in the tour package that they offer. It is located at Sriwichai Alley, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai. For Google Map click here. But it is worthy to visit since it an ancient temple. You will pass this temple before reaching Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep.
The same as any temple you visit here in Chiang Mai, wearing a decent outfit is a must. Wearing short, sleeveless, spaghetti strap dresses are prohibited. You can't find a shop here that sells trousers or scarfs to cover yourself, so you better dress properly before coming here. You can come inside for free and they have a wide parking lot. I saw a cafe but I didn't come inside because I didn't see any tourist drinking at that time, so I choose not to buy some drinks
Some Buddhist believers come here to pray, unlike us, we are here for sight-seeing. Coming to Chiang Mai is once in a lifetime experience so I really wanted to visit every tourist destination here as much as possible. Even it is not a famous tourist destination, it is still worthy to visit. I enjoy the sacredness of this place. I like the scenery and the peacefulness of this place since it's not crowded you can sit here and relax for a while.
There is a shallow river here with slow running water. You can sit on the rock and from here you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Chiang Mai City. It was relaxing for me because the sound of the river is like a piece of music to my ears. It's not so loud and just enough to calm your mind and body.
There is a 100 years old little bridge here that will take you to an awesome trail. A very old wheel that unused now. The statues, pavilion, and everything seem old. Everything or every corner of the temple looks like ancient. They never repainted it and some statue even had tiny plants growing on its body.
