The Royal Garden and Agricultural Station in Chiang Mai is located at Ban Luang, Chom Thong District, Chiang Mai. For Google map click here. If you want to inquire about something you can call this number +66 053 286 771. This place is a part of Doi Inthanon National Park. So coming here you have to pay for 300 baht if you are foreigners but local Thai people only pay 50 baht upon entering the park. So, when you get here and enter the premises of The Royal Garden and Agricultural Station, you have to pay another 20 baht for each person.
We went here by a motorbike that we rented and it took us more than 2 hours to get here. It is very far from the city center of Chiang Mai and the road is slope going up to the mountain. The Royal Agricultural Station is almost 93 kilometers from the city. You have to wake up early and travel early if you are planning to visit the Doi Inthanon National Park.
The Royal Garden and Agricultural Station have a small cafe where you can order some food and drink locally grown coffee at a very reasonable price. You can find this upon entering the farm. I was amazed by the warm weather but the wind breeze is cold when we get there. The flowers bloom beautifully. It's so nice to get a rest here and take a photo with colorful flowers. There are plenty of flowers in the beautiful garden with a swan in the pond.
This place is not really crowded, unlike the Doi Inthanon Park but it is really worth a visit. Since you paid for 300 baht make sure to visit all the tourist destinations inside the Doi Inthanon National Park. It's peaceful and relaxing here. It's good to take a drink overviewing the farm.
There is a trail that leads to the Siribhume Waterfall. You can also visit the strawberry farm at the top of the hill but when we went here. They have already harvested the strawberry so we found no berries. We went around the farm with a motorcycle and take a look at their different kinds of flowers. The locals there are very accommodating and allowed us to get closer to the flower farm.
If you want to stay here for an overnight stay and experience a night in a cold mountain. There are many rooms for you to stay at a very reasonable price. You can contact the phone number I provided.
Overall it was a memorable day for us. I and my husband totally enjoyed the place and highly recommended it if you are planning to visit Chiang Mai. It's good to see the red trees that I only saw in snowy countries.
